- What is your e-mail address?
For general queries or questions regarding Fantasy World XD or the Fantasy World Network, please e-mail Joshua Marketis at webmaster@fantasyworldxd.co.uk. If you have a more specified inquiry, relating to the community message boards, podcasts or the editorial submission system for example, please consult the staff page and contact the correct person.
- Can I contribute something to the site?
Of course you can. Fantasy World XD is built around the idea of user generated submissions and content. As well as using our editorial submission system to add your own reviews and articles to our archives, you can create pages about your favourite game, send a tip to 8-BITS, write a 'What ya playing?', join a podcast recording or simply join in the discussion on our message boards and blog.
- Do I have to be a member?
To use the shout box, editorial submission system, community message boards and to participate in podcasts, it is a requirement that you be a registered member of Fantasy World XD. Membership is free, so why not sign up today!
- Can I join the staff?
Fantasy World XD staff members are appointed on an "as needed" basis, and are usually recruited from community. We look for the right person to fill the right job, so please don't come looking for us. We will come looking for you. The Community Leader appoints message board moderators through the same system, so don't go begging. No one at Fantasy World XD is paid; so don't think you're missing out.
- Can you link to my website?
Fantasy World XD does not advertise non-affiliated websites, however you are free to link to your website in your message board signature.
- Can I be an affiliate?
Fantasy World XD links a small number of websites, known as affiliates, on the homepage of whom we have good relationships and links with. Please e-mail Joshua Marketis at webmaster@fantasyworldxd.co.uk if you are interested in being an affiliate, but bear in mind that we do not accept just anyone.
Profile and Message Board:
- I registered for an account but never got the activation e-mail.
If you never got your activation e-mail, please check your spam folders in case it got blocked. Failing this, e-mail webmaster@fantasyworldxd.co.uk using the e-mail account you registered with, and your account will be activated for you.
- Help! I've forgotten my account password.
If you forget your account password, do not create a new account. Please e-mail admin@fantasyworldxd.co.uk using the e-mail account you registered with, and a new password will be supplied.
- How do I edit my profile?
To edit your profile, click on your username (located on the grey bar beneath the blue one in the site header) and select "Edit My Profile" near the top of the box. This will allow you to enter your interests, occupation, age, signature, avatar, etc. Signature images work using the [img] [/img] tag, but please don't make them too big.
- I can't change my username or e-mail address in my account profile?
This is a deliberate design choice on our part. Once registered, usernames can not be changed in order to keep consistency and to avoid confusion between members identities. E-mails however, can be changed upon request. To do this please e-mail admin@fantasyworldxd.co.uk, providing a good reason for the change. You must also prove that the new e-mail is a functioning account.
- What are the community message board rules?
See this thread for details on the message board rules.
- Why can't I delete my post?
Only message board moderators and administrators can delete posts. Please use the 'Edit' button to clear your post content and request the post be removed.
- What does the report button do?
Reports are sent to the message board administrators and moderators to alert them of posts that you believe break message board rules. It is a form of self-moderation, but should only be used when you think it is needed. Please do not abuse.
- Why is my Private Message (PM) inbox limited to forty messages?
This isn't a storage issue, but more a method to remind people to manage their messages. You have the facility to 'delete' unwanted messages, as well as one to 'save' them. Saved messages are moved to a separate inbox which has no capacity limit.
- Why can't we make polls?
This feature will be implemented sometime in the future.
